JDM Connect specialises in importing a wide variety of vehicles, including classic cars, sports cars, luxury sedans, SUVs, and eco-friendly hybrids. We primarily focus on vehicles that are either listed on the Specialist and Enthusiast Vehicle Scheme (SEVS) or are over 25 years old. 

Our service begins with an agency fee of $1,200 + GST. Additional costs include shipping, customs, compliance checks, and registration. We provide a detailed estimate and keep you informed throughout the process. 

Our import process is designed to be straightforward and transparent: 

  1. Initial Consultation: We discuss your vehicle preferences and requirements. 
  1. Agency Fee Payment: A fixed fee of $1,200 + GST is required to start the process. 
  1. Vehicle Sourcing: We search for vehicles that match your criteria. 
  1. Purchase and Inspection: We handle the purchase and conduct thorough inspections. 
  1. Shipping and Logistics: We arrange secure shipping to Australia. 
  1. Compliance and Registration: We manage compliance checks and registration in Australia. 
  1. Final Delivery: The vehicle is delivered to you, ready for the road. 

Yes, of course! If you find a vehicle for sale in Japan, we can not only help you buy it but also negotiate discounts.
We can deal directly with the car dealers and negotiate discounts off advertised prices.
We organise vehicle inspections before importing them to Australia.

We can assist with importing vehicles that have minimal modifications, such as rims or exhaust systems. Heavily modified vehicles may face challenges in meeting Australian compliance standards. Contact us to discuss specific modifications and eligibility. 

Payments are structured to cover various stages of the import process: 

  1. Initial Agency Fee: $1,200 + GST. 
  1. Purchase Deposit: Required to secure the vehicle at auction. 
  1. Shipping and Customs Fees: Paid before the vehicle’s arrival in Australia. 
  1. Compliance and Registration Fees: To ensure the vehicle meets Australian standards. 
  1. Final Delivery Costs: Including any final adjustments and delivery charges.

We provide secure payment options, including bank transfers.  

Yes, we assist with financing options. We work with various financial institutions to help you secure a personal or business loan, as imported vehicles typically cannot be used as loan security. 

We can ship vehicles to most major ports in Australia. For more information on specific locations, please contact our team. 

The import process generally takes between 12 to 16 weeks from the purchase of the vehicle at auction to it being road-ready in Australia. This timeframe can vary based on specific circumstances. 

Yes, once you engage our services, we provide access to auction listings via email or WhatsApp, allowing you to review and select potential vehicles. 

We ask that our clients set a maximum budget for their desired vehicle as the bidding window for Japanese cars is very tight, with vehicles being presented for auction approximately every 30 seconds over an 8-12 hour period. This means we have no time to contact you between bids. Please contact us for further information about the bidding process.

Yes, all vehicles undergo a comprehensive pre-purchase inspection to ensure they meet our high-quality standards before being shipped to Australia.

We coordinate with authorised third-party compliance centres to ensure your vehicle meets all Australian standards and regulations before it is registered and road-ready. 

We implement a stringent inspection process that includes thorough checks for rust and corrosion. We only purchase vehicles that meet our high standards for quality and condition.  

We rely on detailed inspection reports and certificates provided by the Japanese government, which include odometer verification as part of their rigorous testing process. 

Luxury car tax is calculated according to the latest ATO guidelines. We help you understand any potential tax liabilities based on your vehicle’s value.
